1A - First or Last - Port Hawkesbury to Whycocomagh via Trails
Beginning in Port Hawkesbury and ending at Whycocomagh provincial park, this off-road route features mostly easy riding with a mix of intermediate terrain. There were a number of marked washouts in 2024 which has increased the difficulty compared to previous years.
It is recommended that riders who are new to Cape Breton begin their journey on this 2hr 30min (110km) mostly off-road route. This route is a good introduction to the type of terrain you can expect moving forward.
This is a great opportunity to make use of your Back Road Map Book Application and explore the huge area between Baddeck and Port Hawkesbury if times permits!
